Mom, look, that flying bug is a spy!
At last, they have made the ultimate spy, of all things. Scientists at the Califonia University at Berkeley have managed to put implants into insect's body so that they can actually stimulate flight commands. Like all manmade devices, the implanted electrodes and radio antennae need electrical power to function. The power is partly assisted by micro solar panels and partly supplied by electricity generated from tiny piezo-electric components activated by the insect's movements. For the first time ever, man will be able to give commands to an insect to begin flight, or stop, or hover. It seems to be like a real toy, partly made by nature and partly made by man. Experiments are still at an early stage, but there is no telling that it will ultimately be made into a weapon that can parform spying mission of the sort that James Bond would not have envisioned!
